Claude Dawson, Jr. 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday March 18, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 PM Monday at Amarillo Inn and Suites, 1911 I-40 East. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Dawson was born in Clarksville on August 19, 1924. He served in the Army during WWII. After his services, Mr. Dawson opened Dawson Brick and Block which he owned for many years. He married Mattie Marie Nelson in 1943 at Clarksville. He was preceded in death by a son, Claude Dawson, III in 1986. Survivors include his wife, 6 daughters, 2 sons, 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
