Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Willa Mae Gilmore; his parents, Paul and Josie Gilmore; his son, James Gilmore; and daughter, Judy Frost; sons, Nolan and Alden Macomb and nephew Paul Gilmore Jr.
He is survived by his son, Garry Gilmore and wife Melanie; his brother, Paul Gilmore Sr. and wife Cookie; his grandchildren, Steffany Johnson and husband Jack, Aaron Gilmore and wife Jaria, Adam Gilmore and wife Kassie, Alexander Gilmore and wife Alisha, Andrew Gilmore and wife Jessye, Kyle Macomb, Karl Maycomb, Kellie Strickland, Amanda Clevland, and Doug Frost; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, Nephew Ronnie Gilmore and Family and Niece Kristy Waters and Family. Each of these individuals was a source of immense joy and pride for Claude, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Claude's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to hard work. He was known as the hardest working man in any field he stepped into. From the cotton fields of his youth to the oil fields and fiberglass plants, he dedicated himself to providing for his family. Living through the Great Depression, Claude developed a resilience and resourcefulness that would define his character for the rest of his days.
His brother, Paul, was more than just a sibling; they were inseparable companions. Together, they navigated the trials and triumphs of life, never straying far from one another's side. Their bond was a source of strength and comfort to both men, and it was a relationship that was admired by all who knew them.
Claude's interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, often sharing these experiences with his children and grandchildren. His love for buying, selling, and trading cars and guns was well-known, and he had a knack for finding the best deals and treasures. Claude's dogs were his loyal companions, and his favorite treat were butterfingers.
