Clyde ""Lee"" Ford, 63 of Amarillo died Sunday Feb. 16, 2003 Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship Church in Shamrock and Charlie Floyd, pastor of First Baptist Church in Texola, OK officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM in the Shamrock Cemetery at Shamrock. Military Rites will be by the United States Army. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Ford was born in Texola, OK. He moved to Amarillo in 1985 from Colorado Springs. He served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He retired from the Army as a Captain in 1980 after 23 years of service. After his retirement from the Army, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service Ross Street Station. He was Life Member and Past Commander of the VFW Post #1475. He was also am member of the American Legion, DAV, VVA, and the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Assoc. He married Carmen Newman in 1961 at Wheeler. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter; Karen Orthengren and her husband Alan of Amarillo, 1 sister; Jurl Dene Roberts of Shamrock, 2 brothers; Bennie Ford of Wheeler and Earl Ford of Calarendon, and 2 grandsons; Corey Orthengren and Trey Orthengren both of Amarillo. The family requests memorial donations be to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1475 or the Veterans Affairs Medical Center
