Clyde C. Nokes, Sr., 83, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on August 5, 2026.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Rector Pioneer Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Private burial will be at Washburn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home.
Clyde was born in Tulia, Texas on May 11, 1943, to Pearl A. (Pope) and Enos F. Nokes, Sr. He married Inez Threatt on February 9, 1965, in Amarillo, Texas, and together they had two sons, Charlie and Stephen.
Clyde worked as a firefighter for the Amarillo Fire Department for 29 years.
Clyde loved spending time with his family, especially on holidays and birthdays. He enjoyed spending his time bowling in different leagues and shooting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Inez Nokes.
He is survived by his sons, Charlie Nokes and wife Linda, and Stephen Nokes; grandchildren, Ashley Harris and husband Carl, Christopher Nokes and wife Mykala, Jordan Nokes and wife Tristyn, Owen Nokes, and Dacoda Nokes; great-grandchildren, Miya Harris and Michael Harless, Rowan Harris, Declan Harris, Greyson Harris, Leanna Middleton, Aspyn Johnston, and Camdan Nokes; siblings, Bobby Nokes and wife Billie, and Flo Baldwin; one great-great-grandchild on-the-way; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
