Concha M. Smith

Concha M. Smith, 73 of Amarillo died Saturday October 13, 2007 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 15, 2007 at Rector Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with Joe Martinez officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Smith was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She moved to the U.S. in 1984. She married Jim Smith in 1988 at San Pedro, CA. Mrs. Smith became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1989. It was one of the proudest days of her life. She was a homemaker and loved horses. She had lived in Amarillo for 2 years, and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include: her husband of the home; 1 daughter, Brenda Egeland of Colton, CA; 1 son, Antonio Jo Matheu of Biloxi, MS; 2 sisters, Ana Maria Villalba of Guatemala City, Guatemala, and Myrna DeGandarias of Montreal, Canada; 2 brothers, Federico Matheu, Jr. and Ernesto Matheu, both of Guatemala City; 1 god-daughter, Ophelia Diaz of Montgomery, AL; and 5 grandchildren.
