Juanita spent most of her adult life in Amarillo, and her last residence was 1916 Gregory, Amarillo. Juanita was a proud descendent of Peta Nocona (Puhtocnocony, He who wanders and comes back) a great Comanche Indian chief, and father of Quanah Parker, the last great Comanche Indian chief. Juanita spent a great deal of time researching the genealogy of her Comanche heritage. Peta Nocona's first wife was White Huron, and their first child was Millatirwa (Summer Moon) which was changed to Millie Milton when she was sold into slavery. She married John Jerden Goforth and they were the parents of Juanita's grandmother. The great Quanah Parker was the child of Peta Nocona's sixth wife, Cynthia Ann Parker. So Juanita loved to tell everyone that she was a distance half cousin to Quanah.
