Corinne Ina Davis

February 11, 1936 — January 15, 2024

Corinne Ina Davis, aged 87, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Born on February 11, 1936, in Claude, Texas, to the late Lee and Argie Hess, Corinne grew up with a vibrant spirit that would continue to shine throughout her life.

After graduating from Claude High School in 1954, Corinne pursued a career as a comptometrist, showcasing her acumen for numbers and detail. Her professional journey was marked by the same meticulous care she devoted to every facet of her life. In 1958, Corinne married Athel Jones, and together they welcomed two children into the world, a daughter, Geneva Smith, and her husband J.R, and a son, Ricky Jones and his significant other Shanna. Although their marriage ended in 1961, Corinne's strength as a single mother was unwavering, and she provided a loving and nurturing home for her children.

The year 1969 brought new love into Corinne's life when she met Denny Davis. They married and shared a life filled with joy until his passing in 1992. Her heart, though heavy with loss, never ceased to overflow with love for her family, including her surviving sister, Charlene Ferranti, and her adored grandchildren: Riley, Kylie, Buddy, and Jobie.

Corinne's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. An avid bowler, she could often be found at the local lanes, her laughter and cheers echoing with each strike. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for fishing and coyote hunting, activities that brought her closer to nature and the simple joys of life. Family gatherings were a source of immense happiness for Corinne, where her presence was a warm embrace to all who attended.

A devout Christian, Corinne's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She was incredibly active in her church, not only attending services but also extending the church's reach into the community. She visited the homes of those who could not attend, sharing messages of hope and companionship, and in doing so, became a beacon of faith and love in her community.

Those who knew Corinne will remember her for the love she generously poured into the world. Her kindness was a gentle force that could transform a difficult day into one filled with potential and warmth. Corinne's generosity knew no bounds, and she often extended her caring nature to animals in need, nurturing and protecting them with a tender hand.

Corinne's life was a testament to the beauty of a heart that loves without reservation. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible impact she made on the lives of those she touched. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live with compassion and to cherish the bonds of family and community.

Corinne's family will forever hold her in their hearts, remembering the light of her spirit and the depth of her love. Through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her, Corinne's legacy will endure.

In honoring Corinne's life, we acknowledge the end of a chapter, but also the continuation of a story that she wrote with every act of kindness, every moment of connection, and every life she touched. Corinne Ina Davis will be deeply missed, but the love she shared will resonate for generations to come.
