Crystal Staley

Crystal Staley 87 of Amarillo died Tuesday March 17, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in Llano Cemetery with Dan Simmons, brother officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Staley was born in Lelia Lake,Texas to Jay and Ethel Simmons. She moved to Amarillo in 1980 from San Jose, CA. During WWII, Mrs. Staley worked at McDonald Douglas in Long Beach where she riveted planes together. Mrs. Staley was a faithful and devoted Christian. While living in Cupertino, CA, she was very active at the Cupertino Assembly of God. She loved reading and studying her Bible. Mrs. Staley was a homemaker and attended First Assembly of God in Amarillo. She married Robert L Staley in 1960 at Carson City, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roger Jordan in 1999, 1 sister, Carmelita Hix and a brother Horace B. Simmons. Survivors include her daughter, Simone Tillmon of Amarillo; 1 brother, Dan Simmons of Tigard, OR; 1 granddaughter, Megan Moore of Tulsa, OK; her very special friend, Marge Kanda of Cupertino, CA; 6 nieces and 2 nephews.
