D. Jack Eberman

September 15, 1937 — December 24, 2005

D. Jack Eberman, 68 of Vega, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at his home. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Vega with Mark Urquhart chaplain with Hospice Care of the Southwest officiating. Graveside services will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 South Coulter Amarillo. Jack was born in Klamath Falls, OR. He moved to Vega in 1971 from Hereford. During the 1960's, he worked as a cowboy. This was a love that he carried with him throughout his life. He was a Navy Veteran. After moving to Vega he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation and was the water superintendent for the City of Vega. He had also worked as the director of Public Works in Shamrock and as the director of Utilities for the city of Monahans. Jack sold municipal supplies for more than 20 years. He retired in 2002 from Morrison Supply. He married Linda in 1972 at Vega and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vega. Survivors include: his wife of the home; 3 daughters, Peggy Tretow and her husband Walter of Loop, Darla Lookingbill and her husband Sid of Hereford and Tammy and her husband Brian of Idalou; 1 son Douglas J. Eberman of Lubbock; 1 brother, Leland ""Butch"" Eberman of Vancouver, WA; 8 grandchildren, Rachael Tretow, Wesley Tretow, Kathryn Tretow, Danielle Lookingbill, Andrew Lookingbill, Billy Jack Lookingbill, Ethan Frieda and Brody Frieda and numerous nieces and nephews The family requests memorial donations to the Memorial Park Cemetery, Vega, Texas or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Viewing will be from 10:00 AM 1:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
