Danny R. Joiner

Danny R. Joiner, 75, of Amarillo died Monday, December 28, 2020. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home. Danny was born June 23, 1945, to Alma (Thomas) and Willis Joiner. Later Alma remarried and Danny was raised by his stepdad Cecil R. Thomas. Danny had a fun sense of humor. He was funny, sarcastic, and witty. He didnt mind going against the grain, but he was also very compassionate and had a big heart. He was a kid at heart, so he had a special bond with his grandchildren. Danny loved animals. His big heart and being empathetic would drive him to make sure that the neighborhood animals were fed. Danny was musically talented and very creative. His ability in art was simply amazing. Danny was good with his hands, he enjoyed restoring antiques, and woodworking. His passion was golf. He was an avid golfer. Danny was preceded in death by his significant other of 21 years, Rosemary Roach, his parents, his stepdad, one sister Marjorie Brey, two brothers; Joe Joiner and Don Cooper. He is survived by his two daughters; Damra Hamlin and her husband Josh and Jami Joiner, three grandchildren; Avery, Elizabeth, and Gavin, three sisters; Lynn Hug, Sue Hurst, and Betty Byars, and one brother, John David Joiner.
