Darlene Mathews Moran

Darlene Mathews Moran 79 of Amarillo died Thursday September 29, 2005 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 Tuesday at Llano East Cemetery with Michael Rose, associate pastor at the Cowboy Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage St. Amarillo TX 79103. Mrs. Moran was born in Monroe, LA. She was raised in Borger and graduated from Borger High School in 1941. She moved to Amarillo in 1982 from Santa Fe. While in Santa Fe, she and her husband owned and operated Media Services where she was an assistant editor for several newspapers in Texas and New Mexico. She married Henry E. Mathews, Jr. in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1979. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Virgil Thompson of Amarillo and 3 grandsons, Lee Thompson, Brandon Thompson and Charles Thompson all of Amarillo. The family suggests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 1400 Wallace Blvd. Amarillo, Texas 79106.
