Dave Farner 86, of Amarillo died Thursday, September 19, 2013 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Llano East Cemetery, Field of Valor with Bruce Clifton officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the DAV Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Farner was born in Kearney, MO. He served in the Navy during WWII. He moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Oklahoma City. Mr. Farner worked for the John Deere Company more than 35 years. He retired in 1986 as the service manager. He married Billie June Denney on December 24, 1948 in Liberty, MO. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 64 years; 1 daughter, Brenda Gauna of Amarillo; two sons, Richard Alan Farner and his wife Rhonda of Lubbock and Randal David Farner and his wife Debora of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Fran Arnold of Excelsior Springs, MO and Helen Jean Sharp of Tacoma, WA; a brother, Charles Farner of Livermore, CA; 3 grandsons, Chad Farner and his wife Tasha, Rick David Farner, Duane Alan Farner; 1 granddaughter, Brenda Anglin and her husband Christopher and 4 great grandchildren, Callie, Caitlyn, Amree and Chris. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to The Cottages at Quail Creek, 6811 Plum Creek Dr. Amarillo, Texas 79124.
