David M. Galvin

David M. Galvin 85, of Amarillo died Friday, March 4, 2022 in Amarillo. A gathering of family and friends will be at a later date. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. David was born in Fort Scott, KS. He graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service after being honorably discharged from the Army where he served as a SSGT. David was very involved in the funeral service profession. He worked for Dodge Chemical Co., for more than 25 years as a sales representative. He traveled all over the United States and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of embalming and restorative art techniques to mortuary students and funeral home employees. David was a member and very involved in Top of Texas AA. He was very proud of his accomplishments and loved helping other struggling members. He was a member of Julian Field Masonic Lodge #908 A.F.&A.M. in Fort Worth. He married the love of his life and best friend, Jan Pratt on May 24, 1977 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death in 2019. Survivors include his son, Sean K. Galvin and wife April of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Seanna and Ellieahnna and one great- grandson, Layten Scott.
