David Jeffries

May 3, 1932 — April 4, 2007

David ""Buster"" Jeffries, 74 of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in Amarillo. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Bolton Street Baptist Church, with Reverend Leon Green officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis Texas. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Jeffries served in the United States Navy from 1953 1957, during the Korean Conflict. He met Lucille Proffitt in 1952 and they married on March 13, 1954 in San Diego California. They were married for 53 years. He worked for Bruckners as a diesel mechanic for 13 years, and retired from Amarillo College. He truly enjoyed life and spending time with his family. He was a member of Bolton Street Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lucille Jeffries of the home; three daughters, Joyce Ann Pohlenz and her husband Peter of Colorado Springs, CO; Pamela Richardson and her husband Wayne of Amarillo; and Michelle Hays of Amarillo; a son, David L. Jeffries and his wife Kim of Cleburne TX; three grandchildren, Chris Richardson and his wife Robyn of Amarillo; Joseph T. Hays of Kress; and Lorrie Hays of Lubbock; a sister, Maydell Yeakley of Searcy, Arkansas; his nephews, Johnny Jeffries of Tennessee; Jerry Jeffries of Dimmitt; Buddy Jeffries of Gallop New Mexico; and Bobby Ray Jeffries of Slidell Louisiana
