David Benjamin Luttrall Jr., born on June 21, 1939, in Bakersfield, California, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 84. Known for his generosity, intelligence, and selfless nature, David's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and dedication.
David was a proud graduate of Clovis High School, class of 1957, where he first displayed his remarkable aptitude for learning and his love for his country. He honorably served in the United States Navy for 10 years, during which time he was awarded a Bronze Star for his bravery and commitment to his nation.
After his military service, David continued to contribute to his community and country through his work. He spent a decade with Bell Helicopter, where his keen eye and steady hand were invaluable. Later, he channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into his own venture, Dave's Photography Studio, capturing moments and memories for countless individuals. His professional journey also led him to a career as a computer programmer, where he combined his passion for technology with his innate problem-solving skills.
On August 4, 1963, David married the love of his life, Cecilia Gonzales, and together they built a family founded on love, laughter, and mutual respect. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Loretta Lynn and Nicole Lacey, and a son, Jeff Luttrall, who married Linda, adding to the ever-growing family tree. David was a devoted father who instilled in his children the values of hard work and kindness. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
David's interests and hobbies reflected the richness of his character. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a game and often shared this passion with his family and friends. His love for spending time with his children and grandchildren was unmatched, and he cherished every moment, big or small, spent with his loved ones.
His fascination with technology never waned, as he loved to program and write code, often losing track of time while immersed in his computer projects. David also had a wanderlust spirit, traveling to various places and capturing the beauty of the world through his photography.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David Luttrall Sr. and Helen Luttrall, and his sister, Helen Jo Jackson. His memory will be forever cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
