David 'Dj' Richardson

David "DJ Richardson,74, of Amarillo died Thursday June 25, 2020. Graveside Service will be 2 pm Wednesday, July 1st at Texline Cemetery with Lynn Rector officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S Osage. Family will receive guest at the funeral home, Monday and Tuesday, June 29-30 from 4-8 pm for visitation. DJ was born June 3, 1946 in Borger to L.D and Pearl Richardson. He moved to Amarillo 1989. He was a hunter, fisherman and avid outdoorsman who also enjoyed camping. He could spend hours talking to his grandchildren about his gun and knife collection. DJ never met a stranger. He had a special charismatic skill about him. He loved to tell stories. He was ornery and funny, but was a good friend. He was a proud loving father and grandfather. He married Paulette in 1973 they were married until 1981, They had two children together. He married Barbara March 27, 2004. He met her when he was in nursing school. His brothers meant the world to him. He loved them with all of his heart. DJ was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Richardson. He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Crystal Burdis and her husband Kris; Lawanda Simpson and her husband Jared; Shelly Rauscher and her husband Rusty; Christy Houston; Kim Parsley and her husband Cody; one son, Chris Richardson and his wife Misty; one brother, Daniel Richardson and his wife Linda; his sister in law, Peggy Richardson; 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
