Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm Sunday, June 5 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 in the Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Monsignor Harold Waldow, of St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. David was born on August 3, 1922 to Juan and Jesusita Ruiz, in Kingsville. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, during World War II, where he was a part of the AA Artillery. Following his service in the Army, he worked for the Railroad in Dalhart. He was married to his wife, Dorothy, for 69 years in which they had a true partnership. They moved to Amarillo in 1952 where he worked for Ted Lokey Oil Company for 30 years. At that time, he wasn't ready to retire, so he went to work for Western Merchandisers for 10 years. He finished his career with Anderson Merchandisers as a security officer and return associate retiring in 1999. His never-ending faith in God was his first priority in life, and then his family, which he loved greatly. He also enjoyed working in his yard. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ""Dutch"" Ruiz of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Pauline Jones and husband Robert also of Amarillo, and Gloria Ellis and husband David of Hereford; 6 grandchildren, Rob Jones of Austin, David Jones and wife Bekki, Steve Jones and wife Tina all of Muenster, Mackenzie Ellis of Amarillo, Meagan and DJ Ellis both of Hereford; 4 great-grandchildren Sophia and Dawson Jones, Merrett and Kennedy Jones all of Muenster ; a brother, Jesse Ruiz of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Juanita Nava of Alice; and a host of nephews and nieces.
