David Vitali

David Vitali 85 of Amarillo died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in Amarillo. Prayer services will be at 6:00 PM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Deacon Henry Wilhelm officiating. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday at St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church with Father Barnabus Radke officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Vitali was born in May 2, 1928 in Pittsburg, OK. He graduated from high school in Raton, NM. He served in the Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1949. Mr. Vitali was a partner and co-owner of Tri-State Plumbing Heating and Air for 37 years. He was also a member of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church. He volunteered at Northwest Texas Hospital and was a member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Assoc. where he loved playing 42 with his friends. He married Patricia Rhodes in 1949 in Amarillo. She died in 2008. Mr. Vitali is survived by 6 daughters, Mary Michele Bailey and her husband Terry, Georgiana Wright and her husband Tommy, Geneva Gerken and her husband Dan and Christy Sursa and her husband Chris, all of Amarillo, Sherry Cross of Big Spring and Teresa Alsdurf and her husband Jack of Frisco; 1 son, David Vitali of Westminster, CO; 1 sister Margie McGuire of Albuquerque, NM; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family requests memorial donation in lieu of flowers to St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 4500 West Hills Tr. Amarillo, Texas 79106.
