Dean Ely

Dean Ely 62, of Amarillo died Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at a later date in Minden, LA. Cremation and arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas 79103 Dean was born in Canyon, Texas. He moved to Louisana in 1968. After high school, Dean worked in the oil fields in Louisiana. He returned to Amarillo in 1986. Dean was full of life. He was always making people laugh. Dean had a wonderful spirit and was always helping others when he was able. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Ely in 1990 and a sister, Sheila Childress in 2015. Dean is survived by his daughter, Kelly Ely of Minden, LA; his father, Virgil Dean Ely of Minden, LA; one sister, Brenda Mitchell and her husband Keith of Minden, LA; his grandson, Tyson Ely of Minden and his best friend and caretakers, Ronnie Boss and Joyce Sapp, both of Amarillo.
