Dean James ""Jimmy"" Miles 38 of Canyon passed from this life, Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Canyon. Celebration of Life Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Mike Wilhelm, chaplain of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Chapel officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Jimmy was born in Amarillo on Sept. 27, 1973 to David and Dorthy (Nelsen) Miles. He graduated from Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in 1992. He loved sports and excelled in football and wrestling. He was attending West Texas A&M where he was working on a pre-med degree in hopes of becoming a pediatrician, when his life was tragically interrupted in 1993. Jimmy had a caring spirit towards children. While in high school, he taught Sunday School. He loved art, reading, clothes and cars. He was a very classy young man. He was intelligent, ambitious and was looking forward to a very bright future. Jimmy was never one to take life too seriously. He was always smiling and having fun while he was growing up. He was a dedicated friend, son and brother. In spite of his auto accident 19 years ago, which rendered him incapacitated, Jimmy managed to touch the lives of so many more people than one could imagine. He gave his family and friends courage and hope and was a constant reminder of the preciousness of life. Our family rejoices, knowing that, with his Christian faith, Jimmy is now enjoying a liberated body and is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to extend a heartfelt ""Thank You"" to the doctors, nurses and staff of Canyon Healthcare for the wonderful love they expressed to Jimmy over the past 17 years. Jimmy is survived by 5 loving brothers, David Miles and his wife Diane of Haslet, Daniel Miles and his wife Sue of West Liberty, IA, Darrell Miles and his wife Regina of Cary, NC, Donavan Miles of Austin and Dale Miles and his wife Ann of Mesquite; 2 loving sisters, Diane Sharber and her husband Jimmy of Amarillo and Darlene Lemmon of Fort Worth and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
