Delores Gene (White) Wopperer 67 of Amarillo died Sunday January 21, 2007 at her home. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller pastor and Dr. Marlin W. Lance, evangelist officiating. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Wopperer was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked as a dental lab technician for several years. After her retirement, she enjoyed making wedding dresses and working as a seamstress. She was very talented, as seen in her art and sewing skills. Mrs. Wopperer taught Sunday school at Grace Baptist Church and at Southwest Baptist Church. She was a very godly woman, who loved her family dearly. Her love was returned by countless people. She managed to give each of her loved ones spiritual reassurance in those last days of her life, here with us. She married Ronald Wopperer December 26, 1957 at Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Manzella, her father, George W. White, a nephew, William R. ""Billy"" White and a niece Kimberly Jane Cornelius. Survivors include: her husband of the home, 1 son; Michael Wopperer and his wife Regina of Amarillo, 2 sisters; Patty Robertson and Zoie White, 1 brother; W.R. ""Bill' White, 2 grandchildren; David Wopperer and Jennifer Smith, a step-grandson Brett West, 3 great-grand children; Michael Wopperer, Dakota Wopperer and Bradasia Smith, and many nieces. The family will be at 8623 Olympia and request memorial donation be to: Olivia's Angels c/o BSA Hospice or the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center.
