Deryl Lee House, 57 of Amarillo died Monday April 8, 2002 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday at Southwest Church of Christ with Ben Mereness, pulpit minister officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Mr. House was born in Tulia. He lived in Amarillo 12 years. He worked as an auto-mechanic for 39 years. He was self-employed most of that time. He was a member of Jeep Exclusive Inc. for 10 years and sang with His Image Singers of Tulia for 17 years. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. He married Judy Rowland in 1964 at Dimmitt. Survivors include his wife of the home; 1 daughter, Apryl Burleson and son-in-law Kevin of Turkey; 1 son, Toby House and daughter-in-law Hidie Smylie of Lubbock; 4 grandchildren, Sierra Burleson and Deacon Burleson of Turkey, and Courtney Smylie and Caci Smylie of Lubbock; 1 sister, Etta Kelton of Amarillo; 4 brothers, Glenn House and Dean House, both of Amarillo, Elven House and Leland House, both of Tulia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Wanda Rowland of Amarillo, J.L. and Delores Rowland of Hereford, Monte Rowland of Amarillo, and Lois Jones of Checotah, OK; and many nieces and nephews. The family will be at 6102 Harvard, Amarillo, Texas 79109 and request memorial donations be to the High Plains Children's Home 11461 S. Western Amarillo, Texas 79118.
