Dewey Zaring

Dewey Zaring, 83 of Amarillo died Sunday May 13, 2007 at Ware Memorial Care Center. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Continental Retirement Center Parlor with Jerry Bell chaplain of Baptist Community Services, Park Central officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Rector Funeral Home 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Zaring was born in Gurdon, Arkansas. She moved to Amarillo in 1980 from Mountain View, CA, where she had worked as a waitress for many years. Mrs. Zaring had been a resident of the Continental Retirement Center. She was preceded in death by her husband James ""Jimmy"" Zaring in 1998 and a son; Doyle Zaring in 1959. Survivors include her sister; Opaline Merjil of Salinas, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family requests memorial donations to Olivia's Angel in care of BSA Hospice or Baptist Community Services.
