D.G. Quigley, 85, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Ussery Roan Nursing Home. The family and friends will host a celebration of life at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 1st at the Church at Quail Creek (801 Tascosa Road) officiated by pastor Kyle Clayton. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. D.G was born in Oklahoma City, OK. on September 28, 1936, to Frank Pierce and Helen Quigley. The family then relocated to Dalhart, TX. D.G. graduated from Dalhart High School in 1956. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served as a seaman for four years. In 1965 he started working for the Texas Highway Department and worked there until his retirement in 1993. In 1964 D.G. became a member of San Jacinto Baptist/The Church at Quail Creek where he worked in the bus ministry and was captain of Bus #1. He also served with the Mexico River Ministry for many years and later was a greeter and valet for elderly members. D.G. loved his church family immensely. D.G. loved vacationing in Red River, NM and going to the Community House to watch square dancing. He was also a faithful blood donor at Coffee Memorial Blood Center. D.G. chose to donate his body to science in the hopes of saving others lives. D.G. was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Allen Quigley, and a special friend, Brenda Glenn. He is survived by five children; Vicki Weidmark of Alabama, Connie (Dennis) Mescall of Minnesota, Teresa Puig of Arizona, Jay (Karla) Quigley of Beaumont, TX, and Beverly (Vernon) Zearley of Amarillo, nine grandchildren; Larry, Derek, Sean, Dennis, Samantha, Austin, James, Ashleigh, and Andrea, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Jo Field of Amarillo. The family would like to give special thanks to Dale Moreland for loving on him and Kyle Clayton for being his pastor. Special thanks also to Kinder Hearts Hospice, Shona his nurse, and Elise his Chaplain, who have taken loving care of him and our family since February. Thank you to Ussery Roan nurses and staff for all the love and care since January 2020. Special thanks to Heidi Nicholson for her extra care during the covid months. It meant the world to the family.
