Dolphus 'Doc' Fowler

Dolphus Lee "Doc" Fowler 81, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Terry Callis, chaplain officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Doc was born on February 20, 1936 in Roosevelt, OK to C.E. and Helen Fowler. He lived in Amarillo most of his life. He moved to Junction, in 2008 and returned to Amarillo in 2015. Doc was an extraordinary floor specialist. He loved his work and his quality was impeccable. He was a perfectionist in every sense of the word. He worked at Mark Davis and Ingrams Flooring. He also worked as a private installer. He also owned a ceramic shop and J-Doc's used furniture and carpet store in Amarillo. Doc was a loving Father, Husband, Papa and friend. He married Fayme Hall in 1952. She preceded him in death in 2000. He married Linda Pinkston Latham in 2002. He was also preceded in death by a son. Johnny Fowler in 1998, one brother Ellery Don Fowler and a sister, Maxine Lemons. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Junction; one daughter, Rhonda Ann Hervey and her husband Russell of Amarillo; two sons, Tommy Fowler and his wife Kim of Amarillo and Donnie Fowler of Lubbock; one sister, Betty Bowland of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter, Amarillo, TX 79119.
