Don E. Bryant

Don E. Bryant 81, of Amarillo, died Sunday July 16, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 21, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with Troy McConnell, Minister of Music officiating. Memorial graveside service will be at 11:00 Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie. Military honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Don was born on March 11, 1936 in Sulphur Springs to Charles William and Mary Orilla (Jacobs) Bryant. He moved to Amarillo more than 50 years ago from Miami. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1960 and the Army Reserves from 1960 to 1964. Don was an electrician and a Member of the IBEW. He worked for 33 years as an estimator for Duke Electric and retired in 2007. Don was a loving Dad and Grandpa. He married Edna A. Sackett on June 2, 1965 in Pampa. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by one son, Daniel Bryant and his wife Tracie of Amarillo; one daughter Carol McMillon and her husband Rick of Amarillo; one brother, Bill Bryant and his wife Kaye of Pampa; two sisters, Inez Benge of Lubbock and Joan Bryant of Ardmore, OK; four grandchildren, Kalee, R.J., Will and Wade; one great-grandson, Raeden; and a sister in law Bena Bryant. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to the Mobeetie Cemetery Association, Mobeetie, Texas 79061.
