Don Lee Taylor

Don ""Big Don"" Taylor, 78, of Amarillo died Tuesday June 27, 2006 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church Main Campus, with Rev. Ken Cole, Officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter. Mr. Taylor married Virginia Butt on July 26, 1947 in Hamlet, NC; shortly after they moved to Pampa where he worked for Motor Inn Auto Supply. In 1964 they moved to Amarillo where Mr. Taylor worked for Paul's Auto Supply, then worked for Parker's Distributing where he worked there until the present day. He will be most remembered as the #1 Salesman, the Cookie Guy, and the best barbeque cooker in town; our Papa was a hum-dinger. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother Lloyd Taylor. Survivors include his wife Virginia of the home; 3 daughters Cathie Place and husband Larry of Canyon, Pam Sebastian, and Teresa Addesso and husband Tracy both of Amarillo; 1sister Patsy Enloe of Kingsland; 7 grandchildren Michelle Calcutt, Michael Sebastian, and Trevor Addesso all of Amarillo; Jason Funderburk of Slaton, Jenni Funderburk, and Todd Place of Canyon, and Lindsey Sebastian of Austin; 5 great grandchildren, 2nieces, and 2 nephews. The family will receive guests at 6806 Zapata.
