Donald O. Cromwell

Donald Otis Cromwell 71 of Amarillo died born November 14, 1944, in Taft, CA, died August 28, 2016 in Amarillo. A private memorial service will be held in Amarillo. Inurnment will be in Lincoln, CA at a later date. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Don was born on November 14, 1944 in Taft, CA. He grew up and attended high school in Lincoln, CA. Following graduation he served two terms in Vietnam as a proud Marine. He moved to the Texas panhandle in 1992 where he worked in construction for his uncle, Leo Gaines, and later for Fuzzy's Radiator Shop in Borger, TX. In 2005, due to failing health, he moved to the Alcohol Recovery Center in Amarillo, and in 2014, he moved to Almost Home, a private care facility. Do was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Sheldon Cromwell and a brother Richard. He is survived by sisters Martha Cromwell of Paris, TN, and Gloria Speight and husband John of Roseville, CA, niece Angie Elliott and husband John of Erin, TN, nephews Richard Perry of CA , Avery Burns and wife Andrea of Lafayette, CA, grand nephews, grandnieces, and many cousins. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be given to the Alcohol Recovery Center, 412 S.E. 16th Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101, or a favorite charity.
