Donald Encinias Jr., known affectionately as D-Bo to his friends and family, passed away peacefully while sleeping on September 18, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 47. Born on November 24, 1976, in Pueblo, Colorado, Donald's life was a testament to the joy and laughter he brought to those around him.
Donald's years were spent in the company of his beloved childhood friends, Marcus Sims and wife Iesha, Myron Sims and wife Velena, and Michael Mack, who were like family to him. His bond with them was a thread that ran through his entire life since early elementary. He attended Palo Duro High School, where his love for sports and camaraderie began to flourish. His three-point shot was legendary among friends and family. He met the love of his life, Vicky, when they were just seven years old. Their story was one of enduring love, having been together since elementary school and married for twenty-three wonderful years. He loved nothing more than taking on new adventures while traveling and seeing new places with her.
A true family man, Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Encinias, and his son, Donald "Tre" Encinias III. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Encinias; his sons, Zachary and Xavier Encinias; his brother, Shawn Encinias; his father, Donald Encinias Sr. and his cherished grandchildren, Donald "Tre'Son" Encinias IV, Donovan Encinias, and Zion Encinias. Donald's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he embraced Vicky's family as his own with open arms and a full heart.
Donald's passion for sports was undeniable. A huge fan of the Denver Broncos and all Denver sports teams, he found joy in the atmosphere of Mile High Stadium while attending games with his family and spent many years playing flag football and eventually even with his sons Tre and Zach. His involvement with the football Booster club at Caprock High School showcased his commitment to community and youth sports. He also enjoyed bowling with his best friend Layne Darnell and working out with his son Zachary, sharing moments of health and happiness.
In his leisure time, Donald could often be found in his recliner, engrossed in crime TV shows, a testament to his love for a good mystery. His sense of humor was unparalleled, and he was known as the king of dad jokes. Donald never met a stranger; his friendly demeanor ensured that he made friends wherever he went. His laughter was infectious, and his presence could light up any room.
Donald's pride in his role as a Papo was evident to all who knew him. He had a fond love for his grandkids and cherished every moment spent with them. His playful spirit was a source of joy for his grandchildren.
Those who knew Donald will remember him as a loving, funny, and friendly man. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life, his quick wit, and his generous spirit will be deeply missed. Donald's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless friendships he nurtured throughout his life.
