Dora Gonzales Bernal

Dora Gonzales Bernal, 83 of Amarillo passed from this life. The funeral service is 2:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2023, at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home. The family will receive guests for visitation Thursday 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Dora was born in California on October 2, 1939, to Mateo and Carmen Gonzales. Dora was a very kind-hearted, and selfless person. She was very giving and always willing to help others out. Dora was proud of her family. Every opportunity she could, she was showing photos and told all about her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Dora made a lot of sacrifices making sure her children didnt have to go without. She loved them unconditionally and taught them to love. The family was important to her. She worked many jobs over the years retiring from Texas Tech Health Science Center. Dora was a very proud person. She made sure to dress for the day and fix her hair. She looked forward to her hair appointments, speed walking at the mall, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Dora was an avid Cowboy fan. She loved her cat and made sure to spoil Oscars dog as well. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raul Bernal, one son, Rudy Bernal Jr., and one brother, Elizer Gonzales. Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Oscar Bernal, three grandchildren; Josh, Rhase, and Vandan Bernal, five great-grandchildren, two sisters; Ellia Sanchez and Viola Gonzales, and two brothers; Ruben Gonzales and Eddie Gonzales.
