Doris Jean Castleberry

A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at Messiah's House with Jason Craft officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Doris was born on September 14, 1946 to Clyde M. and Lois Meeks in Amarillo, where she resided her entire life. She worked for Unifirst as an order room supervisor until her retirement. Doris enjoyed arts and crafts, reading books, and loved doing yard work. She was a loving wife of 50 years, daughter, sister and mom, and most of all, enjoyed being a grandmother and Non. She was preceded in death by a son, Tony Castleberry; her father; and two sisters, Rita Oldham, and Mary Owens. Survivors include her husband, Grover Castleberry; 3 children, Teresa Oberbrockling, Kathy Terry and husband Alan and Sheryl Castleberry; her mother Lois Duncan; brother, Dr. Clyde Meeks; 2 grandchildren, Adam Castleberry and Andrew Terry all of Amarillo and a host of other relatives and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions to Messiah's House: 514 W. 8th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79101. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm on Tuesday, April 5 at the funeral home.
