Dorothy Mae Ruiz

Dorothy Mae Ruiz 88, of Amarillo died Saturday November 29, 2014 in Hereford. Prayer services will be at 5:00 PM Sunday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel and services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Fr. Tony Neusch of St. Antonys Catholic Church of Hereford officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Resurrection at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Ruiz was born in Clayton, NM. She moved to Amarillo in 1952. Mrs. Ruiz worked at St. Anthonys Hospital with the dedicated Sisters for 10 years. Her calling was serving others. She worked as a private care giver for 18 years. Mrs. Ruiz loved animals and was always taking in strays. She was married to David Ruiz for 57 years. He preceded her in death in 2011. Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters, Pauline Jones and her husband Bobby of Amarillo and Gloria Ellis and her husband David of Hereford. 5 grandchildren, Rob Jones, David Jones and his wife Bekki, Dr. Steve Jones and his wife Tina, Mackenzie Ellis, Meagan Ellis and D.J. Ellis; 4 great-grandchildren, Sophia Jones, Dawson Jones, Merrett Jones and Kennedy Jones.
