Dorthy Ruth Reeves

A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 4 at South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Dorthy was born on August 9, 1929 in Childress, and moved to Amarillo in 1931 where she resided until her passing. She was an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 38 years, and was an active member of South Georgia Baptist Church. Her family meant the world to her, and she took great pride in each one. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include 4 children, Cherylon Moberly and husband Bill, Ricky Abel and wife Lorna, Lorraine Reeves, and Karlan Richards; 7 grandchildren, Tyra Bufkin, Tommy Maxwell, Melanie Richards, Will Moberly, Brandon Reeves, Cameron Reeves, and Berkley Boren; 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of friends. The family will receive friend from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, January 3 at the funeral home.
