Douglas Hamlin

Douglas Hamlin, 78, of Amarillo died Friday August 14, 2020. A private graveside will be held 11:00 am Monday August 17, 2020 at Memory Gardens Cemetery officiated by Brother Steven Bostick. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Douglas was born may 24, 1942 in Midland to Zada and O.C Hamlin. He was a simple man and a very selfless person. Douglas was always helping his neighbors. He had always been a truck driver, he was a Master Mason, and a dedicated Baptist. He married the love of his life Margaret May 22, 1992. They were married until her death. Douglas is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his step mom, Stella, one daughter, Michelle Grumbles, two sisters, Joy Rudd and Eddie Mae Wilson, and two brothers, RW and Clinton Hamlin. He is survived by his two sons, Robert Hamlin and his wife Melinda and John Hamlin and his wife Carole, one daughter, Stacey Hamlin, his son-in-law, Richard Grumbles, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
