Douglas “Buddy” Pyeatt, 72 of Amarillo died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister officiating. Military Rites will be by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #26, Interment will beat Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Pyeatt was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 5 years and retired from Texaco after 33 years of service. He married Rita Jo Mulkey in 1953. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter; Darlene Pyeatt of Eldorado, Ark. 2 sons; Darrel Pyeatt and wife Fran of Kingsport, Tenn., and Paul Pyeatt and wife Sue of Walker, LA., 4 sisters; Pauline Higdon of Sonoma, CA, Jeanne Johnson of Amarillo, Gloria Inman of Alto, NM, and Patricia Walls of Ruidoso, NM, 1 brother; James Pyeatt of Dayton, TX, 7 grandchildren; Laura Pyeatt, Lucy Pyeatt, Dylan Pyeatt, Monty Williams, IV., Lealie Williams, Peter Pyeayy and Pamela Brown, and 1 great-grandson; Monty Pyeatt, V. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday and from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday
