Doyle E. Friday

Doyle E. Friday, 79, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday October 19, 2014 in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm in Bolton St. Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Green officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Amarillo, Texas. Doyle was born on January 31, 1935 in Mena, Ark. He worked for the City of Amarillo for 27 years. Doyle loved talking to the Lord, Sundays were always his special day, and he enjoyed going to church. Doyle was a devoted family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents John Rupert Friday, and Nora Walls, and Step Father Elmer Walls, a sister, Dana Wilson and a brother, Buel Walls. Survivors include his wife, Martha Friday, a son, Doyle Friday Jr., two daughters, Lois Cunningham, and Janet Friday, two sisters, Noretta Burgess, and Margie Richardson and her husband Don, all of Amarillo, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday. The family would like to send a special thank you to Deb, Christina, and Jennifer at BSA Hospice. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations go to the Bolton Street Baptist Church, or BSA Hospice.
