Drucilla Irene "Drue" Kohler, 73 of Amarillo died Sunday October 25, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Stephens UMC with Pastor Ken Cole. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Drue is being donated to Life Legacy Foundation for research in Alzheimers disease. Drue was born May 27, 1942 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Howard and Melba Mutter She graduated from Hereford High School in 1960 and from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing 1963. She later attended West Texas State University receiving her BSN in 1988. She married Claude Kohler February 15, 1964. She worked for pediatrician Dr. Goldstein and took care of numerous kids over the 13 years with him. She later worked for the Potter/Randall County Health Department retiring in 2002. Drue was a lifelong member of St. Stephen UMC where she was very active with the youth ministry and directed hand bells for and youth and adult choirs. Drue was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Glen Mutter, a grandson, Brandon Reid Ashley and a granddaughter Hailey Irene Hamilton. She is survived by her husband, Claude of the home, two daughters Tiffany Heizer and husband Bill of Amarillo; and Gia Hamilton and husband Marvin of Lubbock ; three grandsons, Brayden and Devin Heizer of Amarillo and Dimitri Hamilton of Lubbock, and a granddaughter Nautica Hamilton of Lubbock. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimers Association or St. Stephens UMC.
