Duane Staley 76 of Amarillo died Tuesday April 24, 2007 at his home. Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel with Jerry Coffman, pastor of adults at City Church and Don Woolsey, eulogist officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Staley was born in Garden City, KS to Byrl and Lillian Staley. He moved to Amarillo in 1969 from Garden City. He worked in the accounts payable department at Mesa Petroleum for 16 years, retiring in 1985. He also co-owned and operated Mom's Cinnamon Rolls in Amarillo and Lubbock for 3 years. Mr. Staley was a devout Christian. He loved volunteering at City Church where he was a member. Duane made no secret about his love for the Lord. He loved telling others about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A neighbor said Duane lived by the scripture found in Galatians 5:14, ""You shall love your neighbor as yourself"". He was a man of true faith and generosity. He was very generous with his time and love. His example will live on through his family and everyone who knew him. Mr. Staley married the love of his life; Anna Mae Stillwell on June 10, 1949 at Garden City. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2006. Survivors include 3 daughters; Linda Marie Spangler of Windsor, CO, Kendra Lynn Reeves and her husband Mike and Susan Lynette Woolsey and her husband Don all of Amarillo, 1 sister; Betty McCully of Marion, KS, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to City Church 205 S. Polk Amarillo, Texas 79101.
