E. Scott Roberts

E. Scott Roberts, 83, of Amarillo died Saturday September 9, 2006 in Amarillo. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter. Mr. Roberts was born on October 27, 1922 in Tucson, to Lucille and Noel ""Bob"" Roberts. He joined the Army Air Force in 1942, and was stationed in San Antonio and Macon, Georgia; where he was a member of the Army Air Force band. While in Italy he was in the 12th Air Force and continued to play in USO variety shows all over Italy. While in Tucson Mr. Roberts played with The Wayne Webb Band, and Cliff Juergen's Big Band. Mr. Roberts was a member of the Amarillo Masonic Lodge #731, and the Khiva Shrine in Amarillo; he was a musician in the Khiva Stage Band, The Dick Morton Band, and other local bands in Amarillo for many years. He is preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, and his first wife Jean. Survivors include his wife of the home Shirley Roberts; 4 sons, Phillip Roberts of Tucson, Randy Roberts of Honolulu, Mark Lane and wife Olenka of Amarillo, and Gary Lane and wife B. J. of North Richland Hills; 4 grandchildren Jordan and Erik Roberts of Chandler, AZ, McKenzie Lane and Charles Saddeh of Amarillo The family requests memorial donations be to the Khiva Temple Transportation Fund, (benefiting the Crippled and Burn Children's Hospitals in Galveston and Houston, Texas) 305 South East Fifth Ave. Amarillo, Texas 79101.
