Earl L. Liedtke, 74 of Amarillo died Friday Feb, 14, 2003. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Bolton Street Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Green, pastor officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Liedtke was born in Paducah. He moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Paducah. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He served the floral industry as a wholesale florist, for 49 years. In 1972, along with his partner, Joe Harris opened J&E Wholesale Floral Company. Mr. Liedtke served as wholesale director of the Texas State Florist Assoc. He was also a charter member of the WesTexas-New Mexico Florist Assoc. He served as president in 1987. He was Florist of the Year in 1989 and received the distinguished Silver Rose award in 1993. Mr. Liedtke was an avid fisherman and had lots of stories to tell. He married Kara Jean Wall in 1954 at Childress. Survivors include: his wife of the home, 1 daughter; Paula Black and her husband Randy of Panhandle, 2 sons; Doug Liedtke and his wife Kathy and Roger Liedtke and his wife Chelle all of Amarillo, 1 brother; Tommy Liedtke of Amarillo, his foreign exchange student daughter; Jun Miki and her husband Yuji of Japan, 16 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
