Earl ""Leon"" Morrison, 68 of Amarillo died Monday October 22, 2007 at his home. Services will at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Nathan Carrington of Jubilee Apostolic Church officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage St., Amarillo TX. Mr. Morrison was born January 18, 1939 in Bonham, Texas to Jim Earl Morrison and Emmer Fay Fry Morrison. He moved to Amarillo, with his family in 1952. He attended Sam Houston Junior High School and Amarillo High. Leon loved playing Gospel music on the steel guitar. He was a member of the Panhandle Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Association. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 577. He went to work for the Auto Convoy (Hadley Transportation) in 1972 and retired after 25 years of service. He married the love of his life, Ruby Dell Thomas on January 18, 1963. He was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers; Lonnie Gene Morrison and Billy Ray Morrison and 2 sisters; Mary Jo Clarke and Betty Louise Morrison. Survivors include: his wife, his mother Emmer Fay Morrison of Amarillo, 2 brothers; Arlie Morrison and Jim Morrison both of Amarillo, 2 sisters; Evelyn Lisenby of White Deer and Elaine Calderon of Amarillo.
