Edward C. Cox

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller, pastor officiating, Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel 2800 S. Osage St. Eddie was born in Plainview. He moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Borger. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War and was awarded RVN Cross of Gallantry. After being honorably discharged, Eddie worked as a handy man and tree trimmer for many years. He married Shirley Wood in 2002 in Amarillo. He was a great husband and friend. He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, Christy George and Wendy Cox both of Mesquite and Joey Baker of Amarillo; 2 sons, Eddie Cox of Mesquite and BJ Hatfield of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Theresa Heading of Dalhart and Frieda Braddock of Amarillo; 4 brothers, James Lester, Johnny Lester and Greg Lester all of Amarillo and Jerry Don Lester of Dallas; his friend and former wife Carolyn Cox of Mesquite and 9 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to South Georgia Baptist Church Building Fund.
