Bill Hartsfield, 77, of Amarillo died Monday November 27, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday November 30, 2006 at First Nazarene Church with Rev. K. Ray Mc Dowell officiating. Interment will be Friday December 1, 2006 in Spade Cemetery in Colorado City, Texas. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel 8310 S. Coulter Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Hartsfield was born in Colorado City in 1929, he worked there as a ranch hand, and married Lovie Bolin in 1951. Bill joined the United States Army in 1952, and served in the Korean War. After his military service he worked as a butcher and owned his own grocery stores in Amarillo, and Hereford. In 1970 he opened Bills Extermination in Amarillo, and from 1984 to 1990 he owned and operated Bills Pest and Termite Control in Perryton. Mr. Hartsfield went back to the ranch industry after leaving the pest control business until 2002. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Ann Hartsfield in 1960. Survivors include: 3 sons Eddie Hartsfield and wife Carol of Amarillo, Don Hartsfield and wife Cindy of Canadian, and Hunter Hartsfield and wife Tammy of Perryton; 1 daughter Kathy Skinner and husband Walt of Amarillo; 1 sister Marie Carter of Austin , and 1 brother Johnny Hartsfield of Round Rock; 13 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center ""135"" 6010 Amarillo Blvd West, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
