Edward J. King "Ed" "Eddie" passed away on August 25, 2022 in Amarillo, TX. Private burial was at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Liberal KS. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. He was Born in Pratt, KS to Paul W. King and Betty (Coyn) King on November 27, 1947. Edward grew up in Liberal, KS where he made that his permanent home. He attended Ponca Military Academy where he graduated in 1966 as a Cadet 2nd LT. After he graduated, he joined the Army and served during the Vietnam war until 1977 as a Sergeant. When he returned to Liberal, he worked for National Beef for a couple of years then to Halliburton where he retired. He made very good friends there who were like family.He was Preceded in death by his wife Betty (Moore) King. He is Survived by his children Elaine King, and Paul "Justin" King, daughter in law Jocelyn King, granddaughter Zo King, of Coral Springs, FL, his brothers Harry King and Buddy King of Canadian, TX and sister Patricia "Lorraine" King of Springfield, MO.While in the Army, he became a 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido. He had a passion for collecting for rare antiques with his brothers and simply spending time with his family and friends drinking coffee and engaging great conversation.He was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
