Edward A. Villarreal, 52, of Amarillo died Sunday, January 23, 2022. Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 29, at Our Lady of Guadalupe led by Fr. Jose Gomez. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. The family will receive guests for visitation Thursday 6-8 pm and Friday 6-8 pm for the rosary. Edward was born in Levelland on October 7, 1969, to Joe Villarreal Sr. and Aurora Sheppard. Edward was a loving and kind-hearted soul. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time out in his garden. Edward was good at growing delicious vegetables and was a very good cook. He also enjoyed traveling, playing Xbox, and watching the Green Bay Packers play football. He was patient and persistent. He met the love of his life, Armida at Taco Bell. After many times requesting a date and being turned down she finally agreed. They spent 29 years together until he passed. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. Edward was a very determined man. If he didnt know how to fix something he would watch videos on YouTube and exhaust every effort before asking for help. Edward loved Tejano and Korean music and eating popcorn watching Korean soap operas. Edward was preceded in death by his father, Joe Villarreal Sr. He is survived by his mother, Aurora Sheppard, his wife, Armida Villarreal, two daughters; Krystal and Sara Villarreal, five brothers; Johnny Villarreal, Robert Villarreal and his wife Sandra, Joe Villarreal and his wife Sabrina, Jessie Villarreal, Santos Villarreal, 14 nieces; Victoria Flores, Beatrice Flores, Emilia Flores, Luisa Flores, Nicaela Flores, Lesly Flores, Jessica Flores, Christina Hildebrand, Patricia Johnson, Adriana Villarreal, Monique Ponder, Natalie Martinez, Gigina Alvarado, Atzari Villarreal, six nephews; Adam Flores, Luis Flores, Jessie Villarreal Jr., Gilbert Villarreal, Dustin Villarreal, and Justin Mendoza.
