Elvira Reed 71 of Amarillo died Friday November 17, 2006 at Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at Llano Cemetery with Glenn Walton minister of Bell Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, Osage Chapel, 2800 South Osage, Amarillo TX 79103. Mrs. Reed was born in Harrison, Arkansas to William and Nora Powell. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1953. Mrs. Reed was a long time resident of Rolling Hills. She was a past executive secretary for the Lions High Plains Eye Bank. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She married Weldon Reed on July 24, 1954. Survivors include her husband of the home, 2 daughters; Nancy Upton and her husband James of Amarillo and Lisa Thrasher and her husband Terrell of Lubbock, 2 sons; H.W. ""Donny"" Reed, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Columbia, SC, and Robert Reed of Amarillo, 2 sisters; Lucille Powers of Georgetown and Jesse Beleu of Spartanburg, SC, 1 brother; Perry Powell of San Juan Capistrano, CA and her grandchildren; Kyla Gail Cole of Dallas, Joshua Brown, Russell Reed, Casey Upton, Makayla Reed and Lexi Reed all of Amarillo, Kelsey Thrasher and Mackenzie Thrasher both of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be to Olivia's Angels in care of BSA Hospice.
