Emma Arzina O'Dell 79, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas.


Graveside Services will be conducted Friday January 5th, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Littlefield Memorial Park, 1700 W. Delano Ave, Littlefield, Texas. With Ken Branum Chaplain of High Plains Senior Care officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home.


Born on July 16, 1944, in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma, Emma's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and generosity, woven through her 79 years.


Emma's early years in Tuskahoma were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the joys of rural life. Her education and upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and compassionate spirit, which she carried throughout her life. Emma's professional journey as a dog groomer spanned over 35 years during which she earned the trust and affection of countless pets and their owners. Her skillful hands and kind heart made her a beloved figure in the community.


Artistry was a defining feature of Emma's life. As a talented porcelain doll make, her creations brought joy and beauty into the world. Her love for drawing and painting allowed her to express her vibrant inner world. Leaving a legacy of color and emotion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Emma's creative spirit was matched only by her love for the great outdoors. She found solace and inspiration in the mountains, and her happiest moments were often spent fishing or simply enjoying the serene beauty of Bear Lake with her family.


Family was the cornerstone of Emma's existence. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Haley Mendez and son-in-law David, and a loving wife to her husband, Willie O'Dell. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and unconditional love. Emma's sister, Carol Moore and her husband, Roger, her brother, David Haynes, and her extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all held a special place in her heart. She was a cherished grandmother to Briana, Jacob, and Preslee Mendez, and a doting Great-Grandmother to Azalee Ramos. Each family member was touched by Emma's loving nature and will carry forward her legacy of kindness.


Emma's generosity extended beyond her family. her warm presence and willingness to lend a hand made her a pillar of her community. She was known for her ability to listen, her readiness to offer a smile, and her boundless capacity to care for others. Her simple pleasures, like going to town to get a hamburger, were always shared with those she loved.


Those who knew Emma will remember her as a beacon of love and creativity, whose generosity knew no bounds. Emma's life was a testament to the beauty that can be created when one pours love int every action and every relationship.


As the sun sets on Emma's earthly journey, her spirit continues to shine brightly in the memories of those she leaves behind. Her legacy is one of Love, art, and the profound impact one person can have on the lives of many. Emma will be greatly missed, but her presence will be felt in the laughter of her grandchildren, the beauty of her art, and the countless lives she touched with her generous soul.
