Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Baldwin, son-in-law and pastor of River of Life Foursquare Church in Renton, WA officiating. Military Rites will be by the DAV Chapter #26. Interment will be at Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Baker was born in Cullman County, Alabama to Will and Renia Baker. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He received the EAME medal with 2 bronze stars. He lived in Oregon from 1946 to 1999. He worked in the lumber industry 35 years and retired from S.W.F. Lumber Co. in 1981. He married Polly Pruett in 1946. He was a loving husband, dedicated father, greatly loved grandpa and devout Christian. Survivors include his wife of the home, 2 sons; Chuck Baker of El Reno, OK and Ernest H. Baker, Jr. of Rogue River, Ore. 2 daughters; Rena Baker-Battenfield of Amarillo and Rita Baker-Baldwin of Covington, WA, 2 sisters; Dessie Graves and Irene Swann both of Bremen, AL, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
