Ernestina Mata Blunt 78, of Amarillo died Sunday, October 2, 2016 in Amarillo. Arrangements are being made by Rector Funeral Home 2800 S. Osage St . Viewing will be Wednesday in the Osage Chapel from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Rosary will be said at 6:30 PM Wednesday with DCN. Mark Seidlitz officiating. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Haider Quintero, celebrant officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Blunt was born on November 11, 1937 in Balmorhea to Andres and Micaela Mata. She worked as a CRNA and caregiver at Casa Maria Nursing Home in Roswell, NM for many years. She moved to Amarillo in 1992 from Roswell, NM. She worked as a CRNA at BSA Hospital for more than 20 years. Ernestina enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for all of her grandchildren , reading, cooking, gardening and crossword puzzles. She had attended St. Martin's de Porras Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She married Mario Blunt on October 19, 1996 in Amarillo, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents Andres and Micaela Mata, three brothers, Jose Mata, Cruz Mata, and Julio Mata and one sister, Norma Mata. Survivors include her husband, Mario; six daughters, Sylvia Lujan and her husband Hector, Delma Fuentes and her husband Joe, Ernestina "Tina" Stogden all of Roswell, NM, Irma Reyes and her husband Carlos and Nancy Rosas and her husband Ignacio all of Amarillo and Mary Hellen Stogden of El Paso, Tx; two sons, Roy Natividad and his wife Delisa and Freddy Natividad and his wife Sadie all of Amarillo; Five sisters, Maria Nevarez, Candelaria Ornelas, Eva Hernandez, Rosalinda Payen, Irene McClanahan and her sister in law Grace Massey. Six brothers, Ismael Mata, Andres Mata, Jr., Abel Mata, David Mata, Ruben Mata and Ruben Carrasco. 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The Pallbearers will be Johnnie Hector Lujan, Stanley Reyes, Ernest Lujan, John C Rosas, Matthew Rosas and Jimmy Natividad. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her great grandchildren.
