Euestacio 'Joe' Talamantez

Euestacio "Joe" Talamantez 70, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 6 pm Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel with Deacon Andy Gonzales. Services will be at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Joe was born on March 14, 1951 in Pleasanton to Celestino and Corina Talamantez. Joe served in the Army at the end of the Vietnam era. After being honorably discharged in 1974, Joe attended Texas Tech for three years. Joe was very intelligent and loved studying psychology and was an avid reader. He was a "Jack of all trades" and had worked for Attebury Grain for the past 15 years. Joe was an excellent husband, father and grandfather. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to garden, among other things. He had a big heart and was always helping others. He was preceded in death by his father in 2018 and his grandson, Joseph in 2021. Survivors include his wife Felipa; two sons, Robert Talamantez and his wife Jessica and Ricardo Talamantez; one daughter, Georgeanna Flores and her husband Anthony; ten grandchildren, Robert, Vincent, Charles, Sylvia, Jay, Ali, Andrew, Ricardo, Dasia and Jeremiah; six great-grandchildren, Emerie, Caidence, Raelynn, Paisley, Jonathan and Ryker; his mother, Corina Huizar Talamantez; five brothers, Florentino, Esiquiel, Celestino, Jr. and Steven; six sisters, Yolanda, Odelia, Alesia, Lydia, Corina and Modesta.
